This full-day adventure is designed for active travelers who want more than sightseeing. Trek deep into jungle trails, discover hidden ancient temples reclaimed by nature, explore mystical caves, and stand before the legendary Sra Damrei Elephant Statue carved from living rock.

Along the way, learn why Phnom Kulen is one of Cambodia’s most sacred mountains — the birthplace of the Khmer Empire in 802 AD.

After your rewarding trek, visit the holy River of a Thousand Lingas, then cool off with a refreshing swim beneath the beautiful multi-tiered Phnom Kulen Waterfall.

This is not just a tour — it’s a real adventure into history, nature, and local spirit.

Your adventure begins with a 6:00 AM pickup from your hotel in Siem Reap. We travel by private air-conditioned vehicle through the peaceful Cambodian countryside toward the sacred Phnom Kulen Mountain.

Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional Cambodian breakfast in a natural mountain setting before starting your trek. This is where your journey into Cambodia’s sacred history begins.

This is the heart of your adventure. We leave all tourist paths behind and enter the pristine wilderness. Your expert guide will lead you as you discover:
    • Ancient Abandoned Temples: Uncover multiple ruins hidden by jungle vines, whispering stories of a forgotten kingdom.
Re-energized, we head to the spiritual climax of the mountain.
    • The 1,000 Lingas: We visit the sacred riverbed where thousands of Hindu symbols are carved into the stone, blessing the water that flows to Angkor.
    • Waterfall Paradise: The perfect reward! We arrive at the spectacular main waterfall. After 12km of trekking, nothing beats the bliss of diving into the cool, refreshing mountain water. You'll have plenty of time to swim, relax, and celebrate an extraordinary accomplishment.

Frequently Asked & Question

This is a challenging but rewarding adventure. You don’t need to be an expert hiker, but you should have a good level of walking fitness and be comfortable walking 12km (7.5 miles).

The trail is a real jungle path: uneven, rocky, and with some hills. The main challenge is the distance combined with the tropical heat, not technical skill. We take plenty of breaks.

If you enjoy a good hike and are ready for an active day, you will love it. However, it is a true hike, not a casual walk, and is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Most Kulen tours are “sightseeing” tours. They drive you to the main spots: the Reclining Buddha and the main waterfall.

Ours is an expedition. The high value comes from its exclusivity:

  • The 12km Trek: You hike on private, off-map trails.
  • The Hidden Sites: You are guided to ancient temples and the Sra Damrei (Elephant Statue) that 99% of tourists never see.
  • The Expert Guide: You have a professional mountain guide, not just a driver.
  • It’s All-Inclusive: The $20 Park Ticket, private transport, breakfast, and lunch are all included.

This is a premium, full-day adventure, not a quick stop.

This is critical. You must wear proper, closed-toe footwear.

  • Recommended: Hiking shoes or good trail runners.
  • Acceptable: Sturdy running shoes (trainers) with good grip.
  • NOT Allowed: Flip-flops, sandals, fashion sneakers (like Converse), or any open-toed shoes. The trail is rocky and uneven, and we must prioritize your safety.

Yes. The $20 per person national park admission ticket is included in your tour price. This is an all-inclusive expedition.

We believe in small group adventures. To ensure a personal experience and minimize our impact on the trails, we cap this trek at a maximum of 8 guests per group.

We run this tour rain or shine! The jungle is often even more beautiful in the rain.

  • Light Rain: The tour continues as normal. The trails can become muddy, which just adds to the adventure!
  • Severe Weather: Your safety is our #1 priority. In the rare event of severe, dangerous weather (like a lightning storm), your guide will make the final call, which may mean altering the route.
